Andrea Bertotti

Project Manager

Dr. Bertotti has a broad background in cancer biology, with specific focuses in the fields of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) signal transduction, oncogene addiction and targeted therapies. Starting 2008, Dr. Bertotti focused his research activity on translational projects, with a particular interest in metastatic colorectal cancer. In particular, he initiated – and subsequently coordinated – a big effort aimed at generating a reliable preclinical platform for high-fidelity anticipation of clinical findings based on PDXs. This resulted in a collection of more than 300 liver metastases from colorectal carcinoma that have been systematically transplanted in immuno-compromised mice and concomitantly profiled for
molecular characteristics, which constitutes a unique resource for translational studies in the field. The team of Dr. Andrea Bertotti successfully exploited the informative potential of this platform, leading studies that produced peer-reviewed publications in major scientific
